Visible Thinking in Mathematics is an innovative series of eleven supplementary books designed to foster critical and creative thinking in mathematics. This series is aimed at encouraging children to engage in deep thinking, exploration, and reflection, rather than just rote learning of procedures and formulas. The key features of the series include:

• Thinking routines: These are purposeful questions that guide children’s thinking on essential concepts, helping them develop their thinking skills.
• Parallel questions: A series of math problems with similar contexts but different keywords, designed to highlight the distinctions between problems. This ensures that children understand and retain concepts and skills more effectively.

The approach taken in this series not only enhances mathematical skills but also promotes disciplined thinking and a stronger motivation for learning. To support children further, each book includes Notes sections. These provide opportunities for parents and teachers to address misconceptions, simplify complex concepts, and tackle areas where children may struggle. Answers are provided at the back of each book for reference. Please note that this series has not been adapted for U.S. usage. In the money chapters at lower levels, the currency images are of Singaporean coins and bills. Additionally, the series uses only metric measurement units.
