Description
Singapore’s Visible Thinking in Mathematics serves as a supplemental program tailored for students who benefit from additional support in the pictorial stage of Singapore’s Concrete to Pictorial to Abstract teaching approach. It offers step-by-step explanations and strategies to help students visualize concepts, encouraging them to solve problems by visualizing them before tackling more abstract concepts. The program’s questions are designed to help students master concepts by presenting problems in different contexts, helping them grasp the nuances between similar concepts. It also fosters critical thinking by prompting students to reflect on their problem-solving strategies. Visible Thinking Math 1B is specifically designed for the second semester of Grade 1. Each chapter includes a thinking platform page that illustrates the concept through examples, with teaching notes to guide the lesson. This is followed by Attaining Mastery worksheet pages. Concepts covered in this workbook include numbers up to 100, place value, addition and subtraction, length, multiplication, division, time, and money. The workbook includes consumable (non-reproducible) pages and is intended for Grade 1 students. Please note that this series exclusively uses metric measurement units.
