Description
This book contains high-interest nonfiction passages that can help your student improve their reading comprehension skills. The passages cover a variety of topics, including celebrities, inventors, sports, scientific discoveries, and dramatic events that have happened within the last 20 years. There is one passage for each day of the month.
After reading each passage, there is a page of questions that assess important comprehension skills, such as finding facts, identifying cause and effect, determining fact vs. opinion, identifying sequence, identifying the main idea, drawing conclusions, making inferences, understanding context, and making comparisons. Each question is labeled with the corresponding skill and standard, and an answer key is included in the book.
